World #1 Amateur and Back-to-Back NCAA Champion Rose Zhang Extends Callaway Staff Agreement After Turning Professional.
The most successful women’s amateur of all-time has used Callaway equipment throughout her recordsetting career.
CARLSBAD, CA., May 30, 2023 – Today Callaway Golf, one of the industry’s leaders in equipment design, performance, and innovation, announced a multi-year extension with 20-year-old golf superstar Rose Zhang, the most accomplished women’s amateur ever. Zhang, who has used Callaway equipment since the age of 13, will make her professional debut later this week on the LPGA Tour.
Her incredible amateur career has been highlighted by record-setting wins and unprecedented success. She has spent the most weeks ever as the #1 Ranked Women’s Amateur in the World (141), she’s the only woman ever to win multiple NCAA Individual Championships, and she tied the record for most career NCAA individual tournament wins (12) in just two seasons at Stanford University. Among her many other prestigious victories, Rose won the Augusta National Women’s Amateur in April, and the 2023 Pac-12 Individual Championship.
Zhang joined Callaway’s NEXT program for elite junior and college players in 2017, and since then she has played with a full bag of their equipment in competition. In 2022, Rose made history in a new agreement with Callaway, officially becoming their first ever NIL Amateur Staff Player. Over the past year, she has been prominently featured in consumer-facing content, including a new Chrome Soft Golf Ball TV Commercial.
