Jon Rahm starts off 2023 with a win in his first start with the new Paradym Driver! Plus, Paradym sponsored the final hour of commercial-free coverage during a thrilling finish at The Sentry Tournament of Champions, and we have more great partnerships to highlight. Here are our top stories of the week.

Jon Rahm WITB: New Driver + Fairway Woods

With a new driver and fairway woods in the bag, Jon Rahm carded a final round 63 to win The Sentry Tournament of Champions! His switch is especially noteworthy after Rahm led the PGA TOUR in Strokes: Gained Off The Tee last season with his Rogue ST, and during offseason testing he saw a 4 MPH ball speed gain with his new driver. On Sunday, one of the broadcast commentators stated on-air that, “This driver is the best club in his bag.”

Jon ranked 2nd in the field in driving distance and led the field in Putts Per GIR. Here’s a look at what’s in his bag:

New Paradym Drivers Go Into Play

The new Paradym Drivers officially launched on the PGA TOUR this week at the Sentry Tournament of Champions, where Rahm, Xander Schauffele, Sam Burns, Adam Svensson and one of the first round tournament co-leaders all had one in the bag. Players are seeing increases in ball speed, and (like Rahm) Schauffele saw a 4 MPH increase during testing. TOUR Pros have also commented that the downrange dispersion is tighter with this lineup, leading to greater accuracy off the tee.

Paradym’s construction is led by an industry-first 360 Carbon Chassis that promotes unprecedented weight redistribution for maximized distance, with a Triaxial Carbon crown and Forged Carbon sole that are over 40% lighter than a titanium chassis. This massive weight savings is repositioned forward to enhance ball speed, and toward the back of the clubhead to increase forgiveness. Full details on the Paradym Family are available here.

Commercial-Free Hour Presented by Paradym

On Sunday, the Sentry Tournament of Champions featured the final hour of coverage with no commercial interruptions from 7-8pm ET on GOLF Channel and Peacock. Callaway’s new Paradym product line sponsored the hour of uninterrupted coverage along with on-screen graphics and a personal welcome from Callaway ambassador Roger Steele leading into coverage at the beginning of 7pm ET hour. This was the first-ever time for an NBC Sports PGA TOUR primetime golf broadcast to feature uninterrupted coverage.

ICYMI: Curry Extension + New Callaway Partners

On Friday, Callaway and Stephen Curry announced a multi-year partnership extension. Since Curry and Callaway announced their partnership in 2019, Curry has launched several successful golf-related endeavors. In October of 2019, he helped Howard University launch their first-ever Division 1 Golf Program, and Callaway has been heavily involved as the official golf equipment provider for the program since its launch.

Among other initiatives, the two sides have worked together to create a limited-edition Chrome Soft Truvis Golf Ball in support of Stephen and Ayesha Curry’s Eat. Learn. Play. Foundation. In 2022, Curry and his UNDERRATED brand wrapped up a highly successful inaugural season of UNDERRATED Golf. Callaway Golf helped support the inaugural season, and now they have extended their partnership with Curry to become an official partner of UNDERRATED Golf.

Earlier this week, Callaway also announced a new partnership with Good Good Golf, the popular online golf brand and YouTube channel with over 1 million subscribers. Through this partnership, Good Good will collaborate with Callaway on a wide range of video content, including new series and long form challenges with some of the world’s top players. Good Good and Callaway will also collaborate on exclusive, limited edition golf equipment that will appeal to all levels of players.

On Thursday, Callaway and global music superstar Niall Horan announced a new partnership. Horan is an avid golfer and is involved in prominent golf initiatives. He formed Modest Golf, a golf management company that represents professional players, in 2016. Since 2021, Modest Golf has worked with the R&A to design and develop a series of grassroots programs.
