Callaway staffer Alex Noren captures an incredible comeback win with new Opus SP Wedges and a Chrome Tour Golf Ball. Plus, Minjee Lee and Jeeno Thitikul are in contention at the LPGA event in Canada. Check out our top stories so far this weekend.
Alex Noren WITB: Betfred British Masters
In a close finish Alex Noren saw off a stiff challenge from Nicolai Højgaard to win the British Masters at The Belfry. It’s the second time Alex has won the British Masters, his first coming in 2016. His final round 67 saw him close out the victory by one stroke. This is his 11th DP World Tour victory, which is now tied for the most for any Swedish player.
Here’s a look at the full bag of Callaway equipment that Noren used to win today:
- Paradym Ai Smoke Max D Driver (9°) – Graphite Design, Tour AD VF Shaft
- Paradym Ai Smoke Triple Diamond Fairway Wood (15°)
- New Prototype Utility Wood (19°)
- Apex TCB 24 Irons (4-9)
- Opus SP Wedges (46°, 50°, 56°, 60°)
- Odyssey O-Works #1 Wide Putter
- A Chrome Tour Golf Ball
With a full complement of newly released Opus SP Wedges Noren displayed a world class short game performance. Opus SP is constructed with our Spin Pocket, a re-engineered 2-piece construction head design that strategically reshapes mass to optimize CG locations. The Spin Pocket redistributes weight higher, raising the CG, and promoting a lower, more penetrating launch. The result is more spin and enhanced control, especially when you need to flight shots or attack tight pins.
This is the best initial Tour conversion for a wedge in Callaway’s history; there were 32 in play at the Scottish Open, as players like Xander Schauffele, Jon Rahm, Min Woo Lee, Akshay Bhatia, Nicolai Hojgaard, and Rasmus Hojgaard already have it in play. 5 grind options are available – S, T, C, W and the new X Grind that’s back by popular demand.
Chrome Tour Golf Balls are built for players who want the best in distance and feel. It’s engineered for outstanding performance with exceptional speed, consistent flight, incredible spin, and greenside control.
